QUALITY SYSTEMS SUPERVISOR

Reports to: President Location: Brampton Status: Permanent Salary: $45,000 to $50,000

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Systems Supervisor reports to the President and is responsible for implementing, reviewing, planning, organizing and controlling all aspects of the company’s Quality Program to ensure proper functioning and compliance in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001, AS9100, Technical Standards and Safety Authority, Department of National Defense, Transport Canada, and all other customers’ standards and regulations.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:
–Ensure that manufacturing and repair and overhaul of products are carried out in accordance with current Canadian Aviation Regulations and Commercial /component Maintenance Manuals, drawings and Quality Procedures Manuals.
–Responsible for all training associated with the Quality Systems Program.
–Responsible for coordinating Internal Quality Audits which includes requesting and assisting with corrective and preventive action and reporting the findings to senior management. Responsible for analysis of data so as to identify and track defect trends with the application of corrective/preventive actions to improve productivity.
–Responsible for completing External Supplier Quality Audits in conjunction with representatives from Procurement and or Engineering.
–Responsible for producing and amending Quality Procedures when there are changes in requirements or changes in the Company Organization and/or activities.
–Responsible for coordinating the Quality Assurance activities for all Departments within the Company, to ensure acceptable lines of communications are maintained; responsible for ensuring Operation Procedures are effectively implemented and when amendments are required ensuring all concerned parties are fully aware.
–Responsible for initiating or taking action to resolve Quality problems within a Department which will ultimately adversely affect Production. Ensure valid drawings specifications, procedures and related documents are made available to Personnel.
–Responsible to carry out analysis, follow-up and initiate corrective action to deficiencies and observations from Customer Audits and non-conforming reports and to initiate the necessary improvements with respect to quality and verify satisfactory implementation.
–Responsible for stopping the production of non-conforming material and informing the Production Supervisor of such matters. Responsible for convening material review boards for non-conformances so as to review, analyze, chart, recommend solutions and disposition of such materials and items.
–Responsible for the Investigation of Warranty Claims and in conjunction with representatives from Production and Engineering determining the findings and forward action.
–Responsible for maintaining and ensuring that a well-organized and efficient Calibration Program is in place.
–Responsible for assisting the PRM with those duties related to Transport Canada requirement.
–Responsible for reviewing and authorizing Release Notes pertaining to Military, Commercial and Transport Canada Certification Requirements.
–Responsible for reviewing Purchase Orders to ensure that only Qualified Vendors are being used and appropriate information and specification are being requested from each Vendor.
–Responsible for training of inspection personnel and retention of Operations Records.

QUALIFICATIONS:
–Applicant must have a proven record of at least 5 years in a Quality Supervisor position, working in compliance with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 and demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of the aforementioned responsibilities.
–Work experience with the Regulatory Requirements of Transport Canada as it relates to an Approved Maintenance and Manufacturing Facility and/or a background in electrical and/or mechanical trade would be an asset for this position.
–Must possess excellent written and oral communication in English.
